Addiction

Addiction can be a difficult and complex issue that affects many people. It can cause great turmoil in your life, and may even lead you to feel overwhelmed, confused, or isolated. It is also usually a coexisting diagnosis in many clients with ADHD, eating disorder, social anxiety, depression and so on.

Simply put, addiction is a disease that rewires the brain’s reward circuitry, leading to a compulsive need to seek out the substance or behavior that triggers the reward response. This can include drugs, alcohol, gambling, and things like video games and social media etc.

The effects of addiction can be far-reaching and can affect physical health, mental wellbeing, relationships, work, and more. It is a real and medical condition that needs professional treatment. It is not a moral failing or a lack of willpower.

It’s important to understand that addiction recovery is a process that takes time, effort, and patience. We know that taking things one step at a time and celebrating small victories as well as accepting the fact that,  relapses might happen along the way, can make all the difference.

We are committed to listen to your concerns and hear your story, whatever it may be with a warm, accepting approach. We believe in a humanistic approach to recovery that is centered around your personal experiences and needs. We understand that addiction can often be rooted in underlying emotional issues, and we strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore these issues.

Our goal is to listen to your story, understand your challenges, and help you set realistic goals for recovery.

We offer individual therapy as well as group therapy around this subject time to time.
