Specialist Psychological Services for WorkCover & CTP Claims
At Release Your Mind, a limited number of workers compensation and CTP (motor accident) referrals are accepted for
psychological treatment in St Leonards and Westmead.
This service is designed for individuals experiencing psychological symptoms following a workplace injury or motor vehicle accident.
Referrals are reviewed prior to acceptance or in the first session based on whether the presentation is suitable for the specific psychological services provided. This is a structured service, and not all referrals will be appropriate for the clinical approach and expertise we provide.
Scope of Treatment
Psychological treatment focuses on stabilization, functional recovery, and return to daily functioning following workplace or motor vehicle-related incidents.
Treatment typically involves an initial assessment followed by a short-term treatment plan. In most cases, this consists of a defined number of sessions (commonly up 8 sessions), depending on clinical need and insurer approval.
Treatment is most effective where there is a clearly defined incident and psychological presentation (e.g. trauma, anxiety, or PTSD following injury).
This service is not designed as open-ended or indefinite therapy.
Referral and Booking Process
All appointments are request-based and are not automatically confirmed at the time of booking. You can book your appointment online and send your referral to us. However, it will be subject to approval for the session to ho through just like our other booking processes.
Submitting a booking request does not guarantee acceptance. Each referral is reviewed to determine whether the presentation is suitable for our service and within scope.
Patients will be contacted via SMS and usually further information and referral are required prior to confirmation.
Availability and Format
Locations: St Leonards (Sydney) and Westmead
Format: In-person and online appointments available
At least one initial session is expected to be conducted in person where possible.
Appointments are offered in face to face and video appointments format.
Referrals are accepted via:
- GP (WorkCover / CTP referral)
- Insurer / case manager referral

If a referral is not accepted, this does not indicate that the individual is unsuitable for psychological treatment.
It may simply mean that a different practitioner or service is more appropriate.
